I have many sides. I am a freshly minted psychotherapist, out of grad school, starting my first therapy job in November. I am on the hard healing road, trying to understand my anxiety and depression. I am an ecstatic traveler, a student of many teachers, particularly Salvia divinorum, San Pedro, Psilocybin mushrooms, Ololiuqui, LSD, even Toloache for a time. Under their guidance, I have been disintegrated and reconstituted many, many times, with differing degrees of gentleness and violence. I am under the guidance of spirits from whom I am slowly learning the arts of divination and soul travel, among other things. And I am a devotee of Dionysus and a disciple of Dionysian consciousness.
While finishing my Master's program (a 2 year ordeal), I started taking an SSRI to manage my depression and anxiety. Since then, obviously, I have abstained from working with plant teachers with the exception of Salvia divinorum, which has no interaction with the serotonergic pathways that most other plant teachers affect. I hope to wean myself off of SSRIs in early 2019. Once that happens, I have some interest in microdosing and have a large quantity of high quality Banisteriopsis caapi in my freezer I am curious about brewing (sans DMT) for such a purpose.
Anyway, I am very interested in the intersection between my professional role as therapist and the traditional healing modalities. For me, the role of "therapist" is such a new profession in human history, it seems to be a synthesis of many traditional roles with room for growth and deepening. I want to explore how I can approach the therapeutic relationship from a perspective that is rooted, grounded in the natural and indigenous world and the wisdom that is there.
It is tough to know how to approach an introduction, so I welcome any questions! I am very much looking forward to interactions here with folks who may be experienced with different healing paths from the clinical one I am used to.
